Ben Wyndham – Product Manager
Hi! I’m Ben. I am a product manager based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. I work for Backcountry as the product manager for Enterprise Resource Planning. ERP touches order management, product information, inventory management, accounting, and finance functions, which has granted me a broad range of experiences.
I grew up in Texas, and have worked in the retail business for 5 years. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in Government and Business, I moved to Utah, where I discovered a passion for software product management.
One of my core values is lifelong learning. Over the past year, I have spent hundreds of hours expanding my knowledge in programming, machine learning, and system design. I have much more to learn, and continue to do so every day.
Machine Learning
With a focus on recommendation systems, my knowledge of and passion for machine learning helps generate business value through enhanced relevancy in our offerings.
Data Analysis
From forecasting to data mining to root cause analysis, my work in data analysis has helped unlock meaningful insights across business functions – retail, accounting, engineering, and sales.
Enterprise Systems
Enterprise systems are full of trade offs between availability, complexity, scalability, security, and other requirements. I focus on understanding business needs and work with engineers and architects to identify the solutions that best meet those needs.
